Role
The role of the "KESCON" trainer (consultant) is to impart "Knowledge and Skills", furthermore to test trainee understanding by using different skills, tools, exercises and natural abilities
Responsibilities
1. Beforehand
- Establish and/or define the structure of the learning content and the "Specific Outcomes" required from the training intervention.
- Plan the delivery process of the learning content, the required practical experiences and assesments by ensuring that all aspects pertaining to the training intervention is addressed.
- Establish the size of the group, the duration of training intervention, e.g. the number of hours and sessions.
2. During
- Bring into focus the relationship between the training content and the trainees’ day-today role.
- Keep the trainees focussed, aligned and moving smoothly forward to achieve the set outcome(s) of the training intervention.
- Sense the training needs of the trainees on an individual basis as well as on a group basis.
- Facilitate the integration of content with the knowledge and experience of the trainees.
3. After
- Seek written feedback from training participants.
- Reflect on your experience during the training process.
- Debrief with fellow trainers, if training is done by a team.
- Modify training approach and then observe the effects of the change.
